The nautical students from UiT The Arctic University of Norway took the classroom to MV Beret Paulsdatter and experienced both day and night sailing, around Hinnøya.

Northshore has been given renewed confidence by UiT The Arctic University of Norway, as the operating company for the research vessels MV Helmer Hanssen and MV Beret Paulsdatter.

The university's new research vessel, Beret Paulsdatter, is designed, equipped and suitable for teaching navigation in coastal areas.

This year's April/May trip for the University Center in Svalbard (UNIS) brought experiences for the memory book.

The new coastal vessel will be used, among other things, for teaching and research in geosciences, biology, tool technology and coastal navigation.

Norway will in the following years get a new ice going research vessel, but the University of Tromsø – The Arctic University of Norway will at the same time lose the research vessel Helmer Hanssen. "Very unfortunate", says the institute leader according to geoforskning.no.
